Project info

The CREATE project is targeted at development within the structure of IPC of the new Department of Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems. The department will be led by a distinguished reputable scientist (ERA Chair holder), selected by international selection committee in a competitive proceedings. The project predicts a number of measures to be taken by the new leader, aimed at extending research excellency of IPC into the new field (physical chemistry inspired by biology), consistent with new regional strategy of Mazovian Voivodeship.

IPC has brought to perfection analytical methods, used in physics and chemistry. However to become more attractive partner for the ERA institutions and keep up with the development of modern science, IPC has to adapt more interdisciplinary and applicable approach. For this reason, IPC decided to exploit its potential in biology, and refocus on researching biological systems, taking advantage of its lately achievements. Bringing to life such strategy requires finding reputable expert in biology and establishing the new department, focused on applications of developed techniques in biological systems.

Summing up, the key point of CREATE project is to acquire an outstanding scientist to:

  • indicate research directions of modern quantitative biology studies under physical sciences,
  • consult on possible links between physical chemistry and biology,
  • establish cooperation with international scientific units on partner basis.

The CREATE project is aimed at bringing essential know-how to IPC but also spreading excellence through science-science and science-business links.
