Marcin Marzejon was born in Tczew (northen Poland) where he graduated all levels of Polish school system with top scores. He obtained B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees in Electronics and Telecommunications from Gdańsk University of Technology in 2016 and in 2017, respectively. Both B. Sc. and M. Sc. diploma projects were research on low-coherence, interferometric fiber-optic sensors and have been honoured by Authorities of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Electronics Gdańsk University of Technology. Marcin began his Doctoral Studies in October 2017. His scientific interests are new constructions of interferometric fiber-optic sensors, tailoring them to biological and biochemical measurements. He presented the results of his research during domestic and international conferences e.g. in UK.  Marcin also participates in ‘The development of an interdisciplinary and international PhD study programmes ’InterPhD II’ project, which is being carried by Gdansk University of Technology based on the agreement with The National Centre for Research and Development (agreement No. POWR.03.02.00-IP.08-00-DOK/16). Marcin joined Department of Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems at IPC in the POB Group (Physical Optics and Biophotonics Group) led by Prof. Wojtkowski in June 2018.

In his free time, Marcin likes to read books, listen to classical music and drink coffee. He is also a musician – he graduated from the Frederic Chopin Secondary Music School in Gdańsk as a clarinettist with top scores in 2018.
