Inspiration Day 2018

On the 2nd February 2018  IPC took part in the “Inspiration Day” organized by the Warsaw Rotary Club at the orphange in Gostynin. The purpose of the event was not only to popularize science but also to show young listeners various possible ways of personal development. Thus, each of the organizers [including lawyers, artists, businessmen and scientists] at the meeting preceding the classes talked about their work and career.

The all-day classes included music and film workshops, as well as experiments / scientific workshops. The Institute was represented by Dr. Roman Luboradzki. He showed experiments related to optics and spectroscopy: spectroscope, spectrum of different light sources, Newton's disk and Bencham's disk.

The shows were combined with the workshops. Each participant could design their own disk and check if it produces similar effects as Bencham's disk. Young students turned out to be creative and open-minded, so the “Inspiration Day” was also inspiring for the organizers.
