The main goal of Airit Agasty trip was laboratory training in some specialized fluorescence microscopy techniques at the Department of soft-condensed matter at the Max-Planck Institute of Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany.
The goal of the visit was to perform experiments on human cells using novel microscopic technique: differential dynamic microscopy (DDM). The plan of the experiments contained quantification of movement of subcellular components in native HeLa cells and observation of changes of mobility during programmed cell death (apoptosis).
Innovation Source: From phenomenological investigations towards industrial applications. Production of CCV filters for automotive industry
On the 19th June, 2019 the eighth open lecture under a series of “Innovation source” was held at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS (IPC). Prof. Leon Gradoń was invited to the Institute by the CREATE Project Coordinator and the ERA Chair holder to deliver the lecture entilted “From phenomenological investigations towards industrial applications. Production of CCV filters for automotive industry”.
On the 11th June, 2019 the open lecture under a series of “Innovation source” was held at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS (IPC). Prof. Tomasz Ciach was invited to the Institute by the CREATE Project Coordinator and the ERA Chair holder. Prof. Tomasz Ciach is a professor at the Warsaw University of Technology who has broad experience in applying scientific knowledge in practice.
Dawid Borycki participated in theCode Europe Spring 2018 conference. The visit aimed to give two talks. Titles and short abstracts of these presentations are presented below. Presentations were recorded by the organizer and will be published on their YouTube channel.
Yu-Kai Lai, PhD student went to Clément Lafargue’s group, which is under the structure of The Quantum and Molecular Photonics Laboratory (LPQM). His work oscillates around the optical systems with plays an important role in modern research fields such as biology, chemistry physics. The optical system provides fast, non-invaded, and reliable analysis which is beneficial for most experimental setup.
On May, 31 Rafał Bator delivered an open lecture “How to deal with the investment of a Venture Capital fund”. The lecture was held under the series “Innovation source”. The whole society of IPC, including IPC researchers and doctoral students, was invited – 59 persons signed the attendance list. This event was aimed at offering support to researchers, interested in commercial application of own ideas, with development of own ventures and acquiring private funding for initial development stages.
June, 17-18, 2019, the CREATE 2nd Scientific Symposium entitled “Physical Chemistry in Biological Systems – towards comprehensive research on eye and vision” was organized in Warsaw.
Programme of the symposium covered two days. First day was devoted to broadening of IPC research programme through introduction of the new agenda of Translational Eye Research.
Innovation Source: How to convert EU-funded research in MEMS and MOEMS technologies into a success story with market-oriented exploitation?
The fifth open lecture under a series of “Innovation source” was held on November 19th, 2018 at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS (IPC). At the invitation of the ERA Chair Holder, Prof. Christophe Gorecki, Director of research at CNRS and Head of the MOEMS team at the FEMTO-ST Institute
Adam Opalski spent four weeks in the laboratory of Professor Scheler at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia. This visit was funded under the „Lab visit under CREATE project“ competition. Adam tackles the problem of bacteria becoming resistant to drugs and how to combat that adversity.
